Dr. Mirylsa Colon-Martinez

Dr. Mirylsa Colon-Martinez is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with nearly two decades of
experience, practicing in South Florida. She completed a Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Colon-Martinez is a first-generation physician born, raised and trained in Puerto Rico. She
grew into orthopedics as a patient herself, since she was born. By the time she was in high
school, she was an accomplished professional dancer, she decided to purse a career in
orthopedic surgery. She excelled throughout school and completed her Medical School
degree Magna cum Laude at the University of Puerto Rico, general surgery Internship at Beth
Israel Medical Center in New York, and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of
Puerto Rico.

She is recipient of multiple awards including Castle Connolly Top Doctors, The Boca Raton
Observer Top Docs Award two years in a row, Top Physicians in Orthopedics in Palm Beach
County. Palm Beach Illustrated, Hispanic Woman of Distinction in South Florida, America’s Top
Orthopedists Award, Leading Physicians of the World Award, Mentoring Xcellence Award,
Mentor of the Year and more. She has appeared as guest speaker in multiple conferences, and
serves as consultant in the orthopedic implant industry.

Her practice focus is high quality, detail oriented and compassionate care dedicated to Foot
and Ankle Orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery and the newest techniques that allow easier,
faster recovery from surgery, less scarring and less pain. Dr. Colon-Martinez is passionate
about metaphysical anatomy, the mind-body connection, and is also a 200hr certified yoga
instructor, trauma informed, and incorporates this knowledge in her medical practice. She is
currently training to obtain Nutrition Coach and Personal Trainer certifications, in an effort to
better help her patients and community to age gracefully and strong.

Outside her clinical work, Dr. Colon enjoys time with her kids, who keep her busy, as well as
vocal lessons/singing, fitness, yoga, writing, musical theatre and performing arts.
