
Dr. Ed Rylander
Dr. Edward E. Rylander, M.D., is a highly experienced physician specializing in Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine, practicing continuously in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 1988. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and also holds board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Rylander currently serves as the Medical Director of the Riverside Clinic in Tulsa, where he remains actively involved in clinical practice.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rylander has been dedicated to medical education since 1988, serving as a professor of medicine for the IHI Family Medicine Residency Program. He is also the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), overseeing residency training at the IHI Family Medicine Residency Program. His leadership extends to hospice care, as a founding and acting Medical Director for Transitions LifeCare Hospice in Tulsa.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Rylander plays an active role in community service and healthcare administration. He serves as Vice President on two nonprofit community boards, participates in several hospital committees, and holds the position of Vice Chairman of the hospital’s Accountable Care Organization. His contributions to the medical field include the publication of various chapters and research papers that have enriched the medical literature.
In recognition of his dedication to patient care, medical education, and healthcare leadership, Dr. Rylander was honored as Oklahoma Family Physician of the Year by the Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians in 2024.
