
Dr. Michael Song
Dr. Michael Song, a board-certified neurological surgeon, provides exceptional care and consistently delivers positive outcomes for patients facing complex conditions of the central nervous system and peripheral nerves at Advanced Neurosurgery, with offices in Reno and Carson City, Nevada. With extensive experience in advanced spine procedures, Dr. Song specializes in surgeries such as artificial disc replacement, herniated disc decompression and spinal fusion, complex spinal revisions, and microsurgery of the spinal cord.
Dr. Song earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He then completed a general surgery internship followed by a neurosurgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his academic journey, he was recognized for both clinical skill and academic excellence, becoming a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He also received the American College of Surgeons Award as the top student in surgery.
As a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Song is committed to the highest standards of neurosurgical care. He maintains active membership in several leading professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Washoe County Medical Society, and the Nevada State Medical Association.
